Frivolous Friday ~ On Tuesday...
Just in time for summer... a lovely, fresh, pretty collection.
This is the vintage-inspired Sew & Sew by Chloe's Closet collection - the quilt is Sprinkles Baby Quilt by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts. The pattern will be available soon - it uses Julie's terrific Sidekick Ruler.
This is Shine, the Frivols 11 quilt. It's perfect for a summer throw.
Shine measures 55" x 55"". The squares in the tin will be enough for the blocks and inner border, it just needs 2 yards of background fabric to complete the top.
A couple of the prints look like they come from vintage feedsacks but the measuring-tape print is quite contemporary. There are a couple of sewing-quilting-theme prints that are my our favorite.
The scale of the print has been reduced for these pictures - both of the quilt blocks in the Black-on-White print are approx. 2" x 2".
This is the full 42" width of this print - the checks in the aqua gingham are approx. 1/2" x 1/2" and the block is approx. 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".
Frivol No. 11 - Sew & Sew will contain:
- A roll of 42 squares - 7" x 7" from the Sew & Sew by Chloe's Closet ~ there are duplicates of several prints.
- The pattern for the quilt we've titled "Shine"
- 1 Maker block card with a block pattern and a quotation
- A positively adorable must-have-one-of-these Frivols-exclusive tin.
Note: The pattern, recipe cards and Maker card are located under the printed insert - the tin is inside the riser.
If you have Frivols 8 - Bread 'n Butter, this tin is the same size - approx. 2 1/2" x 3".
Maker Blocks.
We're almost caught up - I think Month 7 is still missing.
There are one or two simple "just for fun" Maker Samplers almost finished, one is made with one block from each of the Frivols tins. The other is made with nine blocks for a table-topper, wall-hanging or pillow option. The quilt I'm making is a bit bigger than that -most of the blocks were made in both sizes and there are some re-sized blocks from the different Frivols. All are to show that sometimes it's fun to make blocks without a particular plan in mind... to figure it out when you get there.
Don't worry, you'll know when I get there.
This is the Sew & Sew Layer Cake Sampler quilt - Project Sheets are available when the fabric ships in June.
And finally, this was too cute not to share - a Sew & Sew Sweetpea Pod bag made using Lazy Girl Designs' awesome pattern.
We'll be back in July with the last Frivols - No. 12, featuring Blue Barn by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts.
