Blockheads ~ Block 45

Blockheads ~ Block 45

Can you believe that January is already almost half over with?  That might be a slight exaggeration but it is almost one-third over.

Happy Wednesday - Blockheads Edition 45.

Double Dutch by Jo Morton.  The quilt block, not the jump-rope game.  Did you ever play that?  I did and while I could keep a really good pace by myself, I always messed up with tandems.  And songs?  Terrible.

I'm better with the quilt block.

Double-Dutch Fig Tree Tree & Co. is a combination of Farmhouse and Chestnut Street, with a background from Minick & Simpson's Ann's Arbor.

This is Tammy's block - the fabrics are from Betsy Chutchian, Jo Morton, Lisa Bongean and French General.

As with the Fig Tree block, I substituted a different background for the corner triangles on the inside geese to add another pinwheel to the block.  These fabrics are from Snowberry by 3 Sisters and Lexington by Minick & Simpson.

Question of the Week ~ Do you have any exciting plans or adventures on your calendar for 2018?

Every day is an exciting adventure!  That's the easy answer.  I have a few trips planned and a few "maybes".  The Quilted Moose in Nebraska in a few weeks and Old Town Fabric Shop in Ohio in March.  Market in Portland?  Probably.  But since I try not to assume...

The most exciting thing I know of for sure is the ReStore and Quiltstock retreats here in Dallas in July.  I know... Dallas in July.  But it's going to be a lot of fun - quilting, stitching, fun and games and some surprises.  Lisa Bongean will be here.  So will Me & My Sister - Barbara Groves and Mary Jacobson.  The Martingale folks will be here.  And Kathy Schmitz!

ReStore is for shopowners - that's July 18-21.  Quiltstock is for you - and that's July 23-27.

Don't forget that there is a Blockheads Archive with links to all of the published blocks and blog posts.

That's it for today, January 10.  Be sure to visit Betsy, Lisa, Lynne and Jan to see their blocks and what other good things they might have made:

And don’t miss the blocks being posted to #modablockheads on Instagram and Facebook.  The colors, styles of fabric and block variations are wonderful.

If you're not already a member, you can still join the Moda Blockheads Facebook group.  It's a busy group with lots of tips, suggestions and support.

Happy Blockhead Wednesday!
