December 11: Star of Wonder

I'm Heather of Coffee and Quilts and I'm thrilled to be sharing a block with you today for the Countdown to Christmas. I love star blocks and star quilts. There's just something about them that makes my heart happy. I've titled today's block “Star of Wonder” - I thought the corner units looked like paths leading to the star.

The placement of fabrics can have a huge impact on how this star block turns out – I went for darkest in the center and worked my way to light on the outside. I used five fabrics plus the background, but you can use less – make this block your own! I've including cutting instructions for all four sizes of the blocks – 6”, 12”, 18”, and 24”. Make sure you're following the right measurements throughout. I cannot wait to see all the variations.
