Hello, Blockheads! Welcome to Week 26 of Blockheads 5, Group 2. Our guest designer this week is Kim Kight of Ruby Star Society, and she has designed a really fun block called Tipsy Star that will add a bit of whimsy to your Blockheads project. It’s also a very beginner-friendly foundation paper pieced block, as there are no seams to line up as you assemble the final block! And as always, we have a helpful video tutorial to guide you in constructing your Tipsy Star block.

You can find this week’s pattern here: BH5 – Group 2, Block 26 – Tipsy Star by Kim Kight

Annie, our resident Ruby Star Maker, is hosting this week’s Blockheads tutorial video. You can follow along with Annie as she sews her block and shares her design and construction tips and tricks for Tipsy Star. Catch this week’s video below:

Are you ready to see our blocks? Both Alison and Annie made multiple blocks: One block using more than one fabric for the star for a scrappy effect, and one block using a single print for the star.

Alison made a 6” patriotic version using Moda Basics and a 12” scrappy fall version.

Annie is using Ruby Star Society prints and basics for her 12” blocks!

Now…off you go to press, cut, and sew! And don’t forget to share your blocks with us in our Facebook group or on Instagram (#modablockheads5)!
