Chatsworth Quilt-Along: Blocks 11 and 12
Hello and welcome back to our Chatsworth Quilt-Along!
This month we are finishing our smaller star blocks, 11 and 12.
Month 11
With Block 11, it's more of the same units we have made before, folded corner units and flying geese! Grab 4 different assorted prints for this block. Be sure to use the Simple Folded Corners Ruler (regular or mini) to create the folded corners.

Doug’s Tips:
-
I used my Mini Simple folded Corners Ruler for this block to get perfectly precise folded corners.
Chatsworth is just as stunning in solids as it is in prints! In my blog posts each month, I'll be sharing blocks made with a modern Southwest palette of sand, stone, turquoise, earth, and charcoal shades of Moda Bella Solids. Here's block 11:
Month 12
Our final block! Yay! Block 12. I love how this block plays with your eyes! This block is made from flying geese units -- we just have half with dark centers and the other half have light centers.
Here’s a little tip for next month's step (Block Setting and Braided Flying Geese). For the Block Setting, be sure to have all your leftover assorted print pieces paired up as they are paired up in Blocks 1-12. For the Braided Flying Geese block, you’ll need to grab your pile of scraps from all the assorted prints.
Be sure to check out my Block 12 video for more tips and tricks!
Here's my block 12 in solids:
Be sure to check out our Chatsworth Facebook Group! It sure is fun to see everyone’s block and fabric choices.
See you next month on July 25 for the Block Setting and Braided Flying Geese blocks! We are almost there!
