Stitch Pink - A Cut Above Embroidery

Stitch Pink - A Cut Above Embroidery

To describe Kathy Schmitz as an artist doesn't seem big enough.  She paints and draws, creates beautiful projects with paper and mixed-media, does calligraphy, stitches with linen, wool and fabric, makes quilts and designs fabric.  She also dabbles a bit with embroidery.

Dabble might be a bit of an understatement.  She's designed and stitched big and little stitcheries for every season, and for everything from houses to gardens, birds to sewing.  When we asked Kathy about something for Stitch Pink, she replied that she'd see what she could come up with.

This pincushion arrived a week or so later.

If you're new to embroidery, Kathy has YouTube videos for Beginners, and for a variety of fancy stitches and projects - To The Point with Kathy Schmitz.  She also has a Embroidery Club, a blog and other lovely, stitchy things - Kathy Schmitz.

We hope you're sharing your work - stitching and blocks - on Facebook and Instagram with #ModaStitchPink.

Everything we've shared for Stitch Pink can be found here - Stitch Pink Archive.

Thank you, Kathy!  As an artist, designer and friend, you really are "a cut above."
